  • Choice

Collectively the human race has progressed by leaps and bounds over the last 100 years in the material sense. Inventions and advancements on every level of technological and material improvement have made the past century one in which all of humanity have amassed a great number of material possessions. Our pursuit of a civilization based upon material goods has reduced our ability to take stock of our inherent freedom. Our every increasing need to produce and consume has left our planet in peril and society on the brink of an implosion.

Being a cog in the industrial system has deprived us of the source of our strength, our humanity. The worth of a man in this age has been stripped to an economic factor. The needs and welfare of the human race is at times put aside replaced by the base need of the individual. The greed of Wall Street spilled over to Main Street and with that an economic tsunami spread across the globe with ease through the mechanisms of globalisation.

Numerous current examples of excess and profit at any cost can be cited. I’m not denying that a strong economic base is the key to moving a society forward. Without proper employment of resources, humanity will just succumb to futile degradation. We need to strike a balance of working towards economic sustainability and social justice.

What does social justice have to do with our own growth? Once we understand the interconnectivity of the web of humanity, we will fully understand how we can advance our own abilities in tandem with society’s needs. It is true that those who are economically prosperous have an advantage. And we should strive for that. The question lies in how we envision life and how our acquired wealth bestows on us a social responsibility.

Clear understanding and foresight of the importance of being economically productive allows them to channel their resources to those who are in need. Otherwise crimes such as war, murder and corruption will proliferate and in the end infect society.

The world is forever in motion and with that new possibilities arise constantly. You can choose to make a difference. Our brain’s capability to see, hear and feel compassion allows us to progress in our lives beyond what we believe is achievable. Individually we are endowed with certain gifts. Look into those gifts. They are given to you as a tool for your success. Stop looking at what others have and what you think ought to be yours.

Strong conviction in your own ability wills away all the perceived barriers before you. Certainly, challenges will occur, problems will surface and pain both physical and emotional will be experienced along the journey. No matter how far you have come or how low you once were, remember that you still have more to do. Your duty towards your self-evolution as well as being champion for those you have the fortune to be responsible for should not be dismissed.

When doubt, reluctance and indecision strike your heart, summon the strength you have within you. Your intellectual ability if given the chance to flourish will show you a path out from under any challenge. Doubts will accompany us along the way toward our goal; accept that. Now use it as an opportunity to strengthen your resolve and decimate self-doubt using our brain’s powerful rationalization process to eliminate the negative thoughts which we create as obstacles to thawrt our own true ability.

In the 21st century so many people in the world have been stripped of their self-confidence. Society has allocated self-worth according to what possessions and wealth one has acquired. So much so that we throw away our innate ability to think and analyze allowing others to perform that task on our behalf. We are a species of extreme curiosity and thirst for knowledge. Our positive desire to discover and seek out what is new has been blanketed by the sheer need to want what we do not need. Before we can fully realise our true beauty as humans, we need to break the chain of pseudo slavery and begin making choices that is ours and ours only.
